Referral links and how an introduction is recorded
What a referral link carries, what it deliberately does not, and how an introduction made off-link is still attributed.
Where your link is
Links live under Links in the partner portal. A primary link is created for you when your application is approved and you accept the programme document, so there is nothing to request.
What the link carries
A referral link identifies you and nothing else about the visitor. Campaign parameters you add are forwarded, but only from a fixed allowlist — anything else is dropped rather than passed through, so a link cannot be used to carry arbitrary data into our systems.
Introductions made without a link
Most real introductions are a conversation, not a click. An introduction can be recorded directly against your account, which is what the portal’s client list is for. A client counts the same either way.
When two partners claim the same client
One partner holds the relationship for a given client. Where a claim overlaps an existing one, it is reviewed rather than resolved automatically, and the decision and its reason are recorded on that client.
